No person under the legal drinking age may possess, consume, sell, provide or be provided alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages must either be:

  • Provided and sold on a per-drink basis by a licensed and insured third-party vendor (e.g., restaurant, bar, caterer, etc.) or
  • Brought by individual members and guests through a bring your own beverage (“BYOB”) system.

An organization must NOT co-host, co-sponsor or in any way participate in an activity or event with another group that purchases or provides alcohol. For more information, visit the co-hosting page.

BYOB events

Some events can be bring-your-own-beverage (BYOB). Be aware that BYOB at UA refers to non-alcoholic drinks and alcoholic drinks under 15% ABV. Hard liquor is NOT allowed.

As required in the Social Events Guidelines, any event with alcohol present shall include some type of alternative non-alcoholic beverage and food items. It is suggested that the food items be nonperishable, such as chips, individually wrapped snacks, popcorn, etc.

If your organization is interested in collaborating with another to co-host an event, please see the co-hosting and sponsorship information.
